Home is where the heart/mum/new baby is
Exciting news!
Ande and I are comeing to Adelaide for 12 days in 2 weeks! Ande's mum is having her knee replaced and we will be looking after her, but hopefully catching up with people too!
We arrive on the 22nd of May and leave on the 3rd of June.
We are very excited about meeting our new nephew Lucas Li Jian Lim

These are my BEAUTIFUL new bathers, which I sewed.Kamala if you are reading this - I finally decided that the lovely maroon 40s moviestar Brian Rochford bathers you gave me years ago needed replacing. I couldn't bear to lose them completely, so I have reincarnated them in red frangipani! Below is the video that Ande made of me making them. Warning, rated M. (and very boring for anyone who's not actually in it!)

Hello everyone!
It's been a long time between posts again and it's nice to see everyone elses updates. The Taylors will have a new rugrat soon!
Ande and I had a very busy and eventful holiday season. First we had Georgia and Ben's wedding, on the 16th of December. It was a perfect day, 28 degrees, gentle sea breeze, rose petals, lovely music, beautiful bride and dashing groom. The Bridesmaids scrubbed up ok too :-)
We then rushed headlong into "Rorymas" which is what Christmas has been renamed in our family, as it was my nephew Rory's first birthday.
It was so nice to have a family Rory/Christmas especially after being away for so long.
I must have acclimatised to Cairns because even though I still feel the heat here, I needed a hot water bottle and flannel PJs every night!
We were planning on staying in Adelaide for five weeks, but at the last minute we decided to go visit Ande's Auntie in Penang, Malaysia. I am really glad we went. It was so nice to see her again and I got the impression she was pretty happy to see us too. We tried to learn how to cook her magnificent dishes, and have since practiced at home. They aren't quite the same, but we are getting pretty close! (I think the key ingredient may be deep fried oil with oil on the side!)
Ande bought a whole new wardrobe in 45 minutes at the big shopping centre in Penang. He was a hit with the shop assistants who thought he was the coolest dude on earth. He now is the proud owner of a patchwork shirt, patchwork shorts and a patchwork belt ( all the latest Japanese fashions of course). I am trying to get him to buy the patchwork converse sneakers that are around, but Ande thinks that might be going over the top.
We were back in Adelaide for just one night before flying back to Cairns and work the next day.
It's been constant action since we got back. Ande's cousin Ian (an international tennis coach) stayed with us. We had a few nice evenings listening to his plans for our future. (It's ok, it's a very grand future!:-)
This week Anthea, Michael and Benjamin are staying with us. They arrived with the beggining of the wet season and it just hasn't let up. I really feel for Benjamin. The rain here is very serious rain and unless you are going swimming, there's not much you can do outside. I am learning all the thomas the tank engine songs and find myself singing them at work!
"Accident's happen now and again just when you least expect!" "so don't be afraid, don't be afraid, don't be afraid of the dark!"
I have had some strange looks.
They are off to the Atheron Tablelands today despite 2 cyclones bearing down on us!
It's such an exciting time of the year, when everyone becomes a weather geek.
It's usually pretty unrewarding looking up the weather here, because it never seems to change. The temperature barely alters from day to night, but at this time of year there are all the cyclone track maps and satellite pictures. The galaxy shaped clouds of a cyclone are really very beautiul.
